Garland, Texas police officer responds to a noise complaint. Instead of knocking on the front door, he walks around to the back of the house. There, he claims the leashed dog, while in its own yard, “attacked” him, so he shot and killed it. The police department now says the officer wasn’t aware that the dog was on a leash.1
